Thanksgiving in Chile

Thanksgiving is selectively an American holiday. Although the Chileans have often HEARD of Thanksgiving from the movies, the certainly don´t celebrate it as we would. My companion and I, however, celebrated our American holiday by going to the beach!
We went to a famous beach resort called Viña del Mar which is home to beautiful beaches and a world famous music festival. This working clock is made of flowers and is a signature trademark for Viña del Mar.
In honor of our American traditions, Adri I made a turkey in the sand.

We also found a restaurant overlooking the beach and ordered the most American meal we could: cheeseburger, fries and a coke. And of COURSE we had our fill of desserts too! This dessert tray was called "chocolate fun" and I can assure you - it was fun.

Miss Thomas, Those desserts look delicious. The food looks scrumptious, too! I hope you had a safe trip back to the States. There is definetly a change of temperature/seasons here. Now you have to put away all those short sleeved T-shirts and pull out the winter clothes. Well get your rest. sincerely, Emily Smith:]

Tanner - do I have to choose? I love both countries for different reasons. I refuse to pick favorites :) and that dessert WAS really good!

Emily Smith - thanks for your sympathies. I hate being cold and the change has been REALLY hard for me but I made it home safe! I am excited to see you!

Adreck - I DIDN'T eat turkey. In fact, it is hard to find turkey in Argentina. We wanted to give the missionaries turkey for their conference meal and they said we would have to order it from Brasil if we wanted turkey. boo.

Andrea - lots of questions. Like I told Tanner, I can't choose favorites between the two countries. I love them both for different reasons. BUT I will say that Chile has the beach and where I was in Argentina there wasn't so Chile wins in THAT category :) BUT I like the Argentine accent. I will answer your questions more in person k? See you soon!
